I've been leading Kim's Krew groups for several years. This started with a hand full of young moms who needed encouragement and centering from an older mom. My thinking was that when I was a young mom, I needed Christ and connection with others in my situation - but I didn't have a lot of time for deep Bible study. What I found to be effective and time conserving with continued growth, was to memorize Scripture. So, I began with these amazing women and I gave them one verse a month to memorize along with a few questions and comments as food for thought. I sent out the month's verse and questions at the start of the month and then I sent a weekly email with some thoughts, encouragement and some of my own journal entries. I also hosted a monthly luncheon for the "girls" with cloth napkins and a select menu to help them feel loved, appreciated and heard.
This was a huge success! And pretty soon, friends from all over the U.S. began to hear about this little study of mine so I created another online group, Krew2 that is composed of a random mix of women in my life. And then I added another group that's composed of women in ministry.
After nearly ten years of doing this, I needed a place to catalog all my notes and emails. I'll be adding a section too for "miscellaneous musings," with bits and pieces of quotes and writings that have been meaningful to me over the years.
We'll see where this goes! Thanks for joining me on the journey ~ sigh ~ "home."
